The last month at school can definitely be super stressful - group work, finals,
recovery time...
And it’s all crammed into just a few weeks! If you want to finish the year with
all your classes passed so you can have a relaxed summer, you’ve got to put in
some work in the final stretch.
So how can you make this process a little smoother? With a bit of work,
concetrantion, and some of our top studying tips.
Prioritize. You’re probably better at some classes than others. Review the
material you know really well, and leave more time to study in depth for the
classes you have the most trouble with.
Ask about the type of test. Multiple choice tests are so different from timed
essays. Each teacher has his or own way of doing a test. So you don’t end up
with an unpleasant surprise on test day, ask your teacher about the test format
(like the type, number of questions, the time you have to do it, etc.). The more
you know, the better.
Leave yourself time to study. It might be tempting to say "Ah well, there’s
still a month left", but but remember that time flies, and you could end up
studying like crazy two days before your finals. Be strict with yourself, and
start working at least a month ahead of time. It kind of sucks when none of your
friends are doing it, but trust us, it’ll save you serious stress and panic.
Make time for breaks. Don’t overload your brain with tough material. Here’s an
easy approximation: for every 50 minutes you study, take a 10-minute break. That
way, you can work super hard for those 50 minutes.
