Fashion Games

Ever come across any brilliant lookbook/challenge creations on Roi and have no idea how
they were achieved? Here’s my compilation of a few that have fascinated and boggled me so
much. (Name tags at the bottom of each image ;-) Thanks, all owners!)


1. MANIPULATED BACKDROPS

Images 1 & 2. Dreamy backdrops, lowered opacities. You can see how the lightened
background makes the figure in front pop. I don’t know if this was an accidental effect or
if there’s a special tab for it that I’ve somehow missed ;_; Anyhow, if the background CAN
be manipulated, it opens up a lot more possibilities as to what we can do with our fashion
challenges! \o/


2. ABSTRACTIONS

Images 3-13. glittergirl84, lolwut and spiralmaiden make the best "frames" - not the
readymade ones that Roiworld provides, but fashioned out of decorative items. It involves
a lot of sizing up of suitable images, rotating, enlarging, whatever whatever, a lot of
work really. If I could vote 100x for all of them, I would. They are AMAZING. O_O


3. EXTREME CLOSEUPS

Images 14 & 15. Sometimes humans get displaced by profiles of bouquets, puppies, lion cubs
etc. I love these. The easiest explanation for it is that each item was enlarged
individually until it filled up the entire space and covered the human model, but I’m
wondering, is it possible to zoom in on a specific section like what we can do on the edit
avatar page?


4. MISSING BODY PARTS

Images 16-18. I’m sure you’ve seen these around before, headless avatars. Is it...a glitch
on Roiworld? A clever rearrangement of programming code by masterful hackers?
...*MAGIC*???

Once, my avatar went bald in the fashion store, but it was very very temporary. The
browser was hanging so I had to restart it D-: Anyway, the one by grilledfashio here
(Image 17) is a masterpiece of the genre. Not only did the head go poof, the facial
features jumped ship as well and stuck themselves to the hair! And it’s wearing a fedora!?
Not to mention there’s a sliding screen. Please, please, hit me with a clue how this is
done!
